On Thursday, 18 September 2025, eBay business sellers from across the East Midlands gathered at the Conkers Discovery Centre in Swadlincote for our latest East Midlands eBay Business Seller Meetup.
The event, funded by eBay and organised by sellers for sellers, was a fantastic opportunity to share ideas, learn new eBay selling strategies, and network with fellow online business owners.
Event Highlights
The afternoon began with refreshments and informal networking, providing attendees with the opportunity to connect before the main sessions commenced. Malc & Jane opened with a warm welcome, followed by housekeeping and introductions, setting the tone for a packed and engaging agenda.
Jane also said thank you and a fond farewell to Malc the Stamp Man, eBay shop Travelruss GB Stamps, for co-hosting the last three meetups. To mark the occasion, Malc received a small golden thumbs-up trophy from Jane – a nod to his well-known thumbs-up emoji on various photos and messages. Malc will now be setting up his own eBay Business Seller Meetup in Northampton, so stay tuned for details!
The sessions included:
- Free Marketing with Q&A – Jane (eBayAnorak) shared practical strategies for boosting visibility and sales without overspending.
- Interactive Quiz – a fun and competitive way to test eBay knowledge and get conversations flowing.
- Seller Story – Rebecca Walker from the eBay store Elsie Louise’s Emporium shared her journey and tips for growth.
- Paid Ads – Malc explained how to use eBay advertising effectively to scale your business.
- Room Q&A & Next Steps – an open forum for sellers to discuss challenges, exchange advice, and support each other.
Alongside the sessions, a light lunch was provided, and ample time was built in for sellers to network, collaborate, and establish valuable contacts.
We were also joined by eBay’s Media team DEPT, who spoke with sellers about what they value most at meetups and what they’re excited to see at eBay Open 2025 on October 1st, 2025. This post is also featured on the @ebayforsellersuk Instagram page.
Building the East Midlands eBay Seller Community
One of the biggest takeaways from the event was the collaborative spirit of the East Midlands eBay community. Sellers at all stages – from newcomers to experienced full-time business owners – shared practical tips, asked questions, and built new connections.
Events like this show the power of the eBay seller network, where learning doesn’t just come from eBay resources but from real experiences shared by fellow online sellers.
